Teacher Champions represent their school and submit all the children’s essays. Children can participate in one of two categories – Primary Schools (ages 7-11) or Secondary Schools (ages 11-17).Register as a Teacher Champion

Every year the competition focuses on a different global sustainability challenge.
This year’s theme is PROTECTING BIODIVERSITY.
The Essay competition for 2021 is now closed, however you still have time to enter the Sustainability Challenge Video Competition, which is open until the 28 February 2021.See the brief
Essay results are announced online on 15 February 2021.
The top entries either receive Finalist (top 10%) or Honourable Mention (top 10-33%) award certificates. The overall Grand Prize Winner, and top ten medallists in each category, are notified separately and announced at the Debates and Awards.Judging criteria
The School Debates build on the essay competition, and anyone who enters the essay competition can participate.
The 2021 Debates on Protecting Biodiversity will take place as follows: Country Debates in Spring 2021, and online International Debate & Teacher Champions Exchange as part of the Partner Power: Protecting Biodiversity Summit on 5-10 July 2021.Learn more
